Site managers working for local housebuilder Barratt Yorkshire East have scooped four prestigious awards in a national competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.
Andy Devine, gained official recognition for the excellence of the Innov@tions site he runs with a Pride in the Job Quality Award. This is Andy’s fourth accolade for his outstanding customer service and quality of work.
He was joined on the winners’ podium by fellow Quality Award winners Simon Reynolds, who runs the Clearwater site, Mark Oates, who runs the Great Oaks site and Mark Thomson, who is based at the Waterside Park development.
The four site Managers collectively have eleven awards between them including Site Manager of the year which was presented to Andy Devine in 2008 and again this year.
The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body NHBC (National House-Building Council) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.
All four site managers will now go forward to the final round of the competition which will select the best site manager in Britain.
Almost 13,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.
The national recognition comes just weeks after Barratt became the first major housebuilder ever to be awarded an official five-star rating for customer satisfaction by the Home Builders Federation.
Paul Newman, Managing Director of Barratt Yorkshire East said: “The official recognition of the jobs which Mark Oates, Mark Thomson, Simon Reynolds, and Andy Devine are doing shows that Barratt is building some of the best quality homes in the country here in Yorkshire.”
“The site manager plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality new homes and that is why we are so delighted with all four of these national awards.”
“It is because we have such confidence in the quality of our build that last year we became the first housebuilder to provide a five-year warranty on all the internal fixtures and fittings.”
“We are determined to continue operating at the highest possible level and deliver hundreds more homes of exceptional quality in Yorkshire in the next 12 months.”Hu17.net - It's all about Beverley
